Course Description:
This course enables the trainee to identify the different types of fall arrest systems employed on building and construction sites, and apply the appropriate controls for compliance with the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992 (HSE Act) and other relevant legislation.
Participants will learn to:
• identify and maintain height work equipment and fall arrest systems
• identify and construct anchor points for fall arrest systems; employ fall arrest systems in a commercial environment
• plan rescue techniques and emergency procedures for working at height when using fall arrest systems.
Who Should Attend?
For those who may be responsible for or who may perform work at height tasks including operating EWP’s, roof work, certified scaffolders.

Unit 176001 – Explain safe work practices for working at heights
Unit 232292 – Use a safety harness for personal fall prevention when working at height
Unit 250452 – Employ height safety equipment in the workplace
Unit 157571 – Employ fall arrest systems on building and construction sites
